Most nonprofits hold at least one event a year, hoping to make money, raise awareness, and attract and engage new and current donors. While the aspirations are admirable, too often these fundraisers are borne of a vision of “easy” money and neglect to consider the associated opportunity costs (what could we be doing if we weren’t doing this?) and the metrics used to measure success.
This workshop will provide the tools and tips for setting specific goals, as well as a broad array of indicators that can be used to measure the event’s return on investment. Designed to be interactive, attendees will be invited to bring data about their own fundraiser to analyze, and we’ll also review some cautionary tales from area nonprofits.
Who should attend: Those involved in the planning and execution of special events, board members, Executive Directors
