Description: We need leaders everywhere. A good leader should motivate, inspire and help develop those who report to them, while also making sure that the goals of the team align with the larger goals of the organization. Strong leaders empower others and make a positive impact on the work environment as well as those around them.

Delegation is a critical leadership development tactic that helps teams build capacity and reduce burnout. If done well, it can take an organization from where it is to where it wants to be. If done poorly, staff and volunteers feel like they are on their own and sometimes even abandoned. This session will also address the need for leaders to engage in effective communication, regardless of the type of team, be they staff, board or volunteers. Finally, we will learn how embracing a growth mindset can be a game changer for you, the leader AND the people in your charge. Expect a high-energy, fast-paced workshop that:

  • Allows you to hit the pause button and focus on yourself as you work to develop your people (staff and volunteers) in a way that helps them grow in their role and prepare for what’s next;

  • Defines the importance of effective communication as we explore styles, mediums, and the intention behind the interaction;

  • Explore the importance of delegation and how it feels to successfully delegate, as well as what happens after you delegate so you can effectively empower your people to get the job done.
