Benefits of Working with PCF

Personalized Service

We help develop a giving approach that aligns with your clients' interests and addresses their tax-planning needs.

Community Knowledge

Our team is well-versed in community needs, from education to healthcare, the environment, the arts, and more. We bring people and organizations together to address issues and explore opportunities.

Investment Expertise

We offer options to well-diversified investment portfolios managed by seasoned professionals.

Acceptance of Non-Cash Gifts

In addition to cash and marketable securities, we welcome donations of real estate, closely held business interests, and various non-cash assets.

Accountability

We diligently preserve and execute donor intent in perpetuity, ensuring your clients' wishes are upheld through communication with recipient organizations.

Flexibility

While our primary focus is on Placer County, we make grants to charities outside the region.

Convenience

Your clients have access to our team to help inform, tailor and make changes to their giving. We offer online access for your clients to make grants as well as contributions to their fund.

Anonymity

We offer options to establish funds, accept gifts, or make grants that protect your clients' privacy.

How It Works

It all starts with understanding your client's intentions. We meet with your client and recommend suitable options. Our simple agreement forms allow for the creation of a fund or provide direction for future gifts, and the instructions can be changed at any time cost-free.

  • Animals & Environment
Protecting and Preserving Our Environment and the Welfare of Animals for Generations to Come Placer County is a beautiful place to call home. There is a balance between urban growth and conservation. We must maintain that balance to accommodate our growing, thriving community and the fragile, seasonal ecosystem that surrounds us. This includes protecting the wildlife around us and the pets in need of love and care. Fur babies are family, too.
  • Arts & Humanities
Building a Vibrant Community Through the Arts We believe in nurturing creativity and enriching our cultural landscape through the arts and humanities. By investing in the arts, we’re not only promoting self-expression but also creating spaces where diverse voices can flourish. Placer Community Foundation invests in its artists and cultural institutions to enrich the lives of Placer County residents and make our community a more vibrant and prosperous place to call home.
  • Community Development
Investing in Our Community We support varied cities and rural communities by investing in social and economic development, beautification and capital improvement projects and the strengthening of local nonprofits. We believe equal access to public amenities and community activities fosters prosperity for all. When we work together, we build a stronger community ready to face anything. Learn More
  • Children & Youth
Creating Opportunities for Our Youth to Prosper Our children are our future. That’s why we support programs and initiatives that help our children as well as young adults thrive. Accessible childcare, resources for growing families and single moms, arts and athletic programs and access to education and job training all contribute to a successful and prosperous adulthood.
  • Safety Net
A Happy, Healthy Placer We support a range of initiatives for our most vulnerable Placer County residents to prosper including improved access to healthcare, mental health support, housing, and workforce development. Our vision is to ensure no one is left behind and everyone has access to the resources to prosper.
  • Education
Uplifting Through Education With a focus on nurturing knowledge, we support education initiatives to provide equal educational opportunities, empowering students to thrive and succeed. By investing in our schools and students through scholarships, we’re not only shaping the next generation but also ensuring that prosperity becomes a shared reality for everyone in Placer County.

Giving Options

Your clients can create their own funds, or they can give to existing funds that benefit specific organizations or community needs. PCF can receive various assets beyond cash, including retirement benefits, appreciated stock, real estate, closely held business interests, personal property, and art.

PCF's Financial Advisor Program

Our Financial Advisor Program is a win-win-win for you, your client, and the community. As their trusted advisor, you manage the invested assets in your client’s fund at PCF. Our expertise on charitable giving and local community needs connects them to opportunities that align with their vision for a better world.

A Simpler Alternative to Private Foundations

PCF offers efficiency and support. We alleviate the burdens of structuring a private foundation, formulating policies, overseeing the investment of the assets, filing all necessary tax and other forms, and monitoring the activities of grantees. We handle all functions while offering tax advantages. We also provide solutions when family foundations become burdensome.

Jeff Stephens
I think the Placer Community Foundation in particular does a good job providing “no commitment” discussions with interested potential donors for background information and education. This makes them very easy to work with because I know the client will have a good experience if I make an introduction to one of their representatives.
