Health Education Africa Resource Team (HEART) was founded in 2000 by President, Vickie Winkler, with a focus on sustainability. This is a Christian faith-based organization.

“Empowering the people of Africa to Survive and to Thrive Beyond the HIV/AIDS pandemic”.

HIV/AIDS swept across Sub-Saharan Africa, leaving behind 14.8 million orphaned children.

HEART’s motto is “Survive → Empower → Thrive”. The have a passion for orphan prevention by keeping mothers alive, healthy and working. HEART provides medical care, education for mothers and their children and income generating activities designed to create healthy, sustainable and disease-free lives. Through these efforts, HEART is providing lasting hope to future generations.

Gifts to the HEART Legacy Fund will increase HEART’s ability to support some the poorest people on earth to be self-sufficient and have the ability to care for their own children.
